Please do not return textbook rentals or purchases to the Brightpoint Libraries.  All questions regarding textbook rentals, purchases, and additional information should be directed to the bookstore.  Library staff are unable to assist with information beyond what is listed here. 

FAQs

Q: I need a textbook, but don't want to purchase it.  Does the Brightpoint Libraries have a copy or can you request one for me?

A: The Brightpoint Libraries do not purchase textbooks for courses and are unable to request them via interlibrary loan. 

Q: My professor said my textbook was available for free online.  Where can I find it?

A: Unless your course is specifically designated as an OER (Open Education Resource) or a Zero-text cost course, your textbook may not be available for free.  During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, certain publishers release free, eBook versions of their textbooks.  This offer expired on May 25, 2020 and was not renewed by the publishers. 

Q: Can I return my rental to the library book drops?

A: No. The Brightpoint Libraries return all rentals left in the book drop to the bookstore; however, this will not guarantee that the rentals will be credited to your account.  To ensure your rental is removed from your account, please be sure to return textbooks to the bookstore only.
